A closer look at the current service.
Vodafone UK and Three UK merged on 31 May 2025. Vodafone subsequently announced full ownership of VodafoneThree in July 2026. Three’s PAYG help distinguishes account top-ups, Data Packs and add-ons. Only one Data Pack can be active at a time; an auto-renewing pack repeats until cancelled. Packs and available add-ons can be managed through the Three app or My3.
Introduction: what to know about Three
Three is a UK mobile provider with SIM and handset services. Its UK business combined with Vodafone UK in 2025. A shared corporate structure does not mean that the two brands have identical plan conditions. This profile separates background, service features and account processes. Keep your exact product name and start date available: current descriptions and older agreements can differ.
History and development
Three launched in 2003 as the UK’s first 3G-only network. Its early identity centred on mobile data rather than a legacy 2G service. Vodafone UK and Three UK subsequently combined in 2025. The continuing Three brand has its own products and customer support; integration does not make every Vodafone and Three agreement identical.
Features and useful distinctions
Three’s current catalogue separates voice SIMs, data-only SIMs, mobile broadband and handset arrangements. Go Roam is its travel framework. A named plan level can change the included benefits and speed conditions, so check the actual plan summary rather than treating all Three connections as the same service.
SIM options and plan information
The official range includes pay-monthly phone SIMs, PAYG Data Packs and data-only products. A phone SIM and a data-only connection serve different needs. Before selecting a SIM, establish whether you need ordinary calls and texts, hotspot use, a particular commitment length or service for a router.
Phone contracts and device options
Three publishes both pay-monthly and PAYG handset categories. Pay-monthly handset arrangements require careful reading of the device and airtime commitments. For a PAYG handset, check what SIM or initial pack is included. Model, storage, condition and supported software matter separately from the mobile allowance.
Pay monthly: how it is structured
A pay-monthly connection has a recurring account relationship and the minimum term shown in the agreement. Record the airtime term and any separate device repayment period. Three’s benefit levels and travel permissions should be checked against the contract start date; a recent description may not apply to an older line.
Pay as you go: what to check
Three’s PAYG support describes Data Packs, account top-ups and additional allowances. A cash top-up is not the same as activating a pack. Check pack expiry, renewal settings and the treatment of use outside the pack. Three advises activating a PAYG SIM in the UK before travelling.
Bills, payments and additional use
Use the Three app or My3 to separate ordinary airtime, any device payment and additional usage. Look for roaming, international calls or other items outside your allowance. For a disputed entry, retain the billing period and charge description. Ask Three which contract condition explains it; mosaicskiyo cannot amend a Three account.
PAC codes and keeping your number
For a move into Three, follow its receiving-network activation and number-transfer instructions. For a move away, check remaining airtime and device obligations before using the PAC with another provider. For the standard single-number process, text PAC to 65075 to request a code to retain your number. The code is valid for 30 days. Follow any additional verification required by your provider. Give the PAC to the receiving provider through its official route; do not separately close the old line before confirming the transfer sequence.
eSIM, phone compatibility and setup
Confirm Three’s current eSIM support for your exact product and handset model. A provider may support a feature on some products but not every legacy arrangement. Read activation, replacement and transfer instructions before deleting an existing profile. With two SIMs active, check the default lines for calls, messages and data, including automatic data switching.
Coverage, roaming and travel
Go Roam is Three’s roaming framework. The applicable destinations, passes and usage conditions depend on the product and agreement. Use the travel guidance for your own plan, not another customer’s experience. Check the official coverage and service-status information for your important locations. A coverage prediction is not a guarantee of indoor reception. For overseas use, verify your specific destination, account conditions and activation requirements; international calls from the UK are a separate category.
Official support and the next step
Use Three’s official support for account changes, lost SIMs, disputed payments, formal complaints and security concerns. For a connection issue, keep the device model, time, location and checks already completed. mosaicskiyo can explain general information but cannot access the account or represent you. Take this question to the provider: Which Go Roam rules apply to this specific agreement?
Take these checks with you.
- Which Go Roam rules apply to this specific agreement?
- Have I checked the current rules for this exact product?
- Have I separated airtime, device and additional-use obligations?
